WOODRIDGE, IL. (June 2025) – Hendrickson is proud to announce the newest advancements in STEERTEK™ NXT steer axles on Blue Bird school buses – bringing an optimized design that offers further weight reduction to the student transportation sector.
STEERTEK NXT is now present on select Blue Bird Vision and All American school bus models as the platform for both SOFTEK® and AIRTEK® suspension systems. Hendrickson’s proprietary design and manufacturing process has reduced the weight of STEERTEK NXT axles compared to previous generation steer axles. This latest innovation improves weight savings by an additional 25 pounds, contributing to increased payload capacity and improved fuel efficiency.
