CANTON, OH. – Eliminate the operator’s role in raising and lowering
self-steering trailer lift axles with Hendrickson’s new Automatic Lift Axle
Control.
Available as an option on new Hendrickson trailer
suspension systems or through the aftermarket network for retrofitting, the
automatic control electronically triggers the axle lift mechanism when the
trailer travels rearward and starts the axle dropping with forward movement.
Compatible with any lift mechanism equipped with an
electro-pneumatic control, Hendrickson’s Automatic Lift Axle Control answers new
Canadian control requirements for liftable / steerable axles. The unit operates
without driver intervention and without controls in the cab – fully automating
the control of the lift axle.
A wheel-end sensor reads the ABS tone ring triggering after
three feet of rearward travel to activate the lift mechanism. Eighty feet of
forward travel automatically keys the lowering of the axle.
Hendrickson offers a wide variety of liftable INTRAAX®
suspension systems; lift mechanisms including the lightweight, compact UNDER
BEAM LIFT™ (UBL™), and a complete line of electric controls.
The Automatic Lift Axle Control Kit (EKAD0001) includes
direction sensor, electronic control unit and wiring harness. A kit
incorporating a back-up alarm is also available.
A stand-alone trailer system, the easy-to-install control
requires no communication with the tractor and features a compact, modular
design.
