ITASCA, Ill. — The Boler Company and Hendrickson recently increased their
equity position in an existing joint venture, Muelles y Ballestas Hispano-Alemanas,
S.A., (MBHA) in Valencia, Spain.
“The equity increase in MBHA by The Boler Company is part of our strategy to
increase the company’s presence in the European market,” said John H.
Walker, president and CEO of The Boler Company, in making the announcement.
“The MBHA joint venture has been a successful partnership with Investzuir
S.L. of Spain, and the company has become an important part of Hendrickson’s
global spring business. This includes facilities in Canada, Mexico, Spain
and Portugal, as well as an alliance in Brazil,” added Keith D. Stephenson,
chief development officer for The Boler Company and president of
international operations for Hendrickson.
Europe’s leading producer of steel springs for commercial vehicle
applications, MBHA also operates a technical and engineering center,
laboratory and extensive testing facilities. MBHA’s customer base includes
DaimlerChrysler, Iveco, Scania, Volvo and other leading commercial vehicle
manufacturers.
MBHA specializes in the production of high-stress, parabolic taper-leaf
springs, air links and leaf springs annually producing more than 35,000
tonnes of low-weight, long-life parabolic taper and flat leaf springs from
state-of-the-art manufacturing and heat-treating facilities.
Hendrickson, a Boler company, is one of the largest global suppliers of
truck and tractor suspensions, trailer suspensions, truck and trailer lift
axles, bumpers and trim components and springs to the commercial
