CANTON, Ohio — Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems recently earned
certification to ISO/TS16949:2002 Quality Management System (QMS) from Det
Norske Veritas Certification Inc. (DNV).
Certification covers headquarters and research and development in Canton and
all four manufacturing facilities, Canton; Mitchell, S.D.; Lebanon, Ind.,
and Clarksville, Tenn., reports Kent Botner, director of quality for
Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems.
Botner congratulated Hendrickson trailer employees who worked together to
take the company’s quality management system to this high level. He also
recognized members of the quality excellence team for their efforts and
assistance preparing for the audit process.
With certification Hendrickson joins an elite group of the finest companies;
certification speaks volumes about the quality of Hendrickson’s workers,
management system, products and services, according to DNV officials.
Gary Gerstenslager, general manager of Hendrickson Trailer Suspension
Systems, lauded the efforts of all trailer employees in performing to the
high standards that brought this recognition to the division.
“As a leader in the manufacture of air-ride trailer suspension systems,
certification validates the industry’s confidence in our products and
challenges us to continue to enhance customer satisfaction and refine the
effectiveness and efficiency of our manufacturing and business methods,”
says Gerstenslager.
Hendrickson expanded into trailer suspension manufacturing in 1987 with the
purchase of what was then Turner Suspensions in Canton. Turner evolved from
a lift-axle manufacturing business launched by Steve Turner of Girard, Ohio,
which was bought and moved to Canton in 1968 as Turner Wilkof Morris
Manufacturing.
In addition to the Canton headquarters and manufacturing plants, Hendrickson
maintains operations and warehousing in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and
Monterrey, Mexico.
Hendrickson, a Boler company, is one of the largest global suppliers of
truck and tractor suspensions, trailer suspensions, truck and trailer lift
axles, bumpers and trim components and springs to the commercial
transportation industry. Headquartered in Itasca, Ill., Hendrickson has been
meeting the needs of the transportation industry for more than 90 years. |
