Lift Axle Systems - Hendrickson
Hendrickson Auxiliary Axle Systems is the world's leading producer of liftable suspension systems for heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Liftable suspensions enable truck operators to deploy an auxiliary axle when needed to support heavy loads, and to retract the axle to improve maneuverability and tire life when not needed.

Hendrickson manufactures a complete line of air and spring leaf lift axles with a variety of features to meet a wide range of needs of both steerable and non-steerable applications.

Our leadership in this important market is due to innovative products which support our customers' needs to maximize payloads and minimize operating costs. We use state-of-the-art computer aided design and world-leading manufacturing to produce the industry's lightest and most durable lift axle systems.

While this market grew steadily during the 1960s and 1970s, liftable suspensions gained increased utilization on vocational trucks in 1984 when the federal government enacted the "Federal Bridge Formula." These complex guidelines set weight limits for trucks and tractor-trailers based on the number and spacing of axles, forcing many heavy truck operators to add auxiliary axles to optimize payloads under the law.

The PARALIFT™ was the first true parallelogram lift axle, which helped ensure proper wheel tracking and longer air spring life. The PARALIFT ULTRA™ axle was the first lightweight fabricated axle designed specifically for the lift axle market. Our lightweight axle incorporated technology from several Hendrickson divisions.

COMPOSILITE™ expands on these features to deliver more benefits and versatility while continuing to decrease weight and vehicle restrictions.

Auxiliary Axle Systems is located in Hebron, Ohio, which houses all system engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and customer service functions.
